Lenz, Josephine E. "Jo"
Josephine E. Lenz, "Jo", age 87 of Oshkosh, formerly of Pickett, died peacefully Tuesday morning, April 12, 2016 at her residence. Jo was born August 9,1928 in Winneconne to Leon & Helen Quigley. She graduated as salutatorian from Winneconne High School in 1946. After moving to California and doing secretarial work, Jo moved back to Wisconsin and married John E. Lenz on June 28, 1952. They farmed in the Pickett area and Jo worked part time at Miles Kimball Co. for 35 years. Jo was an executive and active member of the Winnebago County Extension Homemakers. She was an avid bowler in Omro leagues and was proud of her 602 honor series. Jo and John loved bowling, golf, dartball, and rarely missed a concert, play, or athletic event of their children and grandchildren. Jo was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro and enjoyed her many visits from Sister Pam.
Jo is loved and will be missed by her sons and daughter-in-laws, John Jr. (Kathleen) of Oshkosh, James (special friend Nancy) of Champaign IL, Robert (Cheryl) of Greenwood, Kenneth (Elizabeth) of Eagle ID, Daniel (special friend Maria) of Oshkosh, William (Diane) of Oshkosh, Douglas (Paula) of Kalama WA, and David (Ann) of Oshkosh; grandchildren John III (Emily), Annelise (Benjamin), Natalie, Brigitte, Jay, Timothy, Scott, Bryan (Alexandra), Jamie (John), Dustin, Skylor, Samia (Kevin), Michael, Michele, Jeffrey, Ashley (Michael), Sara (fiancé Arik), Charles, Grace; great grandchildren Journey and Holden.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband John in 2013 after 61 years together.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful care givers of Preferred Home Care, Right At Home Care, and Affinity Hospice.
Visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday April 16, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will be in the Omro Cemetery.
