WILLIAM DRAKE
MADISON, W.Va. — William Harold Drake, 65, of Madison passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016.
Born April 29, 1950, at Madison, he was a son of the late Paul and Margaret Butcher Drake. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Paul Drake, Kaye Drake and Kerry Drake.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and a graduate from Scott High School. He was a retired coal miner from Bethlehem Coal and a member of the UMWA. He was also retired from the WV State Department of Highways. He enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Tyrone Drake (April) of Charleston, W.Va., and Joshua Harold Drake of Drawdy, W.Va.; brothers: Rev. Lawrence Drake (Marlowe) of Milwaukee, Wis., and James Drake (Sharon), Thomas Drake (Ruth) and Don Drake, all of Madison; sisters:, Nancy Drake-Smith of Turkey, N.C., Margaret Drake of Columbus, Ohio; Gwen Drake of Charleston, W.Va., and Donna Drake also of Charleston; granddaughters: Kalena, Daisha and Savannah; grandson, Donovan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Handley Funeral Home at Danville with the Rev. Michael Pollard officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Madison.
Visitation was one prior to services.
