BOCA RATON, FL. — Mrs. Maddalena (Lee Donini) Zofcin, 91, beloved wife of Henry Zofcin (deceased), peacefully entered into her eternal rest surrounded by her family at her home in Boca Raton, Florida, on April 15, 2016.
Maddalena was born in Wilkes-Barre to her father, Francesco, and mother, Virginia (Centini) Donini. She met and married the love of her life, Henry Zofcin, and then moved to New Jersey.
Mrs. Zofcin worked in retail for several companies while in New Jersey and after retiring, they moved back to Wilkes-Barre to Keystone. After losing the love of her life in 2009, she moved to Boca Raton to be around family and to enjoy the warm weather.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and, most of all, being a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Martin Zofcin (Deborah Timerman) of Walworth, New York, and Phillip Zofcin (MarieAngela Zofcin), of Boca Raton; her sister, Irene Pascucci, of Wilkes-Barre; brother, Frank Donini (Carole Donini), of Wake Forest, North Carolina; her three grandchildren, Alexandra, Benjamin and Henry and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate her life from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andre Bessette Catholic Church, 672 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Burial will be at the Italian Independent Cemetery, Stites Street, West Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation in Maddalena's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to Hospice By the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida, at www.hpbcf.org.
