Dear Margaret, i am so sorry to hear of your passing. I know you loved my Dad very much and it was so difficult for you when he passed. I had hoped we would be in touch but somehow this didn't happen. It is good to hear that you kept on with the things you loved. Of course Dad adored animals too, so happy to know you had an animal companion. I thought you had moved back to England and that was the reason I didn't hear from you. I am so sad not to be able to speak with you. I was going to call you tomorrow on Fathers' day to reminisce about Dad. I do miss him so much. I hope you hear this in Heaven and are happy with Dad again. My heart hurts that you are not here anymore on Earth. With so much regret of lost time, I send you and your family all the very best and much love

Your Ex-Neighbour Gary Lisiak

It was with a heavy heart that I learned of my dear ex-neighbour Maggie's passing. My thoughts go out to her family and friends. I was back in Ottawa last week for a few days and planning to visit. When I spied her balcony from below, there was no eclectic mix of flowers pots, hanging plants, furniture and artwork. I knew something was amiss and the sad news was confirmed to me shortly thereafter by staff of the Imperial Apartments.
Maggie's apartment door and mine faced each other's. We were neighbours for about 10 years and Maggie took care of my plants and place during my many absences. She (and Pablo) also popped into my place frequently to do her email before finally buying her own computer years later. There were also a variety of computer lessons for her chez moi.
A smile will forever come to my face when thinking of my dear Maggie. Always in a chipper mood, buzzing around Ottawa on her bike, her swimming, she inspired me with her willingness to adapt to the constantly changing times, wanting to stay current with computers and gadgets, her optimism, her quest to always continue learning be it with a new language or musical instrument and her desire for discovery with her travels.
Safe travels to you my dear Maggie on this last voyage of yours....

I am going to miss you Margaret a big link with the past. You were always your own person and a lot of fun. You had a big heart too, which included animals as well as the rest of the world. Rest in Peace, but you will not be forgotten. Madeleine Taylor, St Martins, NB, formerly Charfield, Gloucestershire, UK

Margaret loved swimming with Carleton Masters and she was a joy to coach. The pool won't be the same without her.

Dear Family

I've known Margaret for a long time and although we didn't see one another all that often we kept in touch remembering our birthdays and during the holiday season. Every time Margaret took a trip she would send me a travelogue of her experiences. She loved travelling to the Maritime provinces, to European vacation spots and to her beloved England.

She was a "one-of-a-kind" sort of person. She had a zest for life that was admirable.

She had a life-long love of competitive swimming and flabbergasted all those young people at the Carleton University pool.

She was devoted to Pablo her pet cat. He was always available for a hug and some cuddling during those quiet times.

Margaret has taken her last flight - Godspeed my friend and rest in peace. Your eccentricity will be missed.

Margaret was a real model for working at her fitness. I enjoyed meeting her in the change room as I don't swim with Lynn now. I know she was keen on joining her husband. I hope she is happy where she is now.

Dear family and friends,
Margaret was a very good friend of the Sisters of the Visitation of Ottawa, now in Pembroke. She used to send us beautiful bouquets of flowers to adorn the Lord's altar for just any occasion. She never waited for a special occasion as every day was special to Margaret.
To honour her memory, we will have a beautiful flower arrangement placed in front of the altar in our little Oratory and we will whisper a prayer for the repose of her soul! Fly Margaret, fly, Jesus and you beloved husband are waiting for you. Enjoy your reward and rest in peace!
