Mrs. Marjorie J. Hall, 94, of Quincy, formerly of Barry, passed away at 8:12 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mount Sterling.
She was born April 3, 1922, in El Dara, to Cicero and Mae Kramer Lee. They preceded her in death. She married Loraine Myers Aug. 6, 1938, in Hannibal, Mo. He died Oct. 8, 1972. She then married Dallas Hall May 20, 1974, in El Dara. He died May 2, 2002. Marjorie was a member of the El Dara Christian Church where she played the piano and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a cook at El Dara Grade School and later worked at Howards Grocery Store in Barry. She had also worked as a telephone operator in El Dara and meal-site coordinator for the New Canton Meal Site. She was well known for her noodles and pies and was loved by all. She is survived by two sons, David Myers, wife Debra, of Hannibal, Mo., and Thomas Myers, wife Sherry, of Payson; and one daughter, Bonnie Jeffers of New Canton. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, James Myers; one daughter, Diana Lynch; three brothers, Bob Lee, Bud Lee and Floyd "Fat" Lee, and four sisters, Edna Quick, Lois Daniels, Rena Parrick and Mazie Myers. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at El Dara Christian Church in El Dara. Burial will be in Taylor-Martin Cemetery in El Dara. VISITATION: 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Aunt Marjorie was one of our favorites. She always had a smile and sweet spirit. Robert and I always enjoyed listening to her stories of time gone by. I loved her ham and beans. ;)
