Seibert, Robert
Robert (Bob) Seibert age 85 of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Monday April 11, 2016. Born on September 19, 1930 in Harrisburg, PA., to the late Harold (Bill) Seibert and Arline Welker Seibert. Bob lived in the South End (Myrtle Ave) Bridgeport before moving to the South End of Stratford (Lordship) in 1960. Graduated from Central High School in 1948 and University of Connecticut in 1954. He proudly served in the US Airforce as a I/LT A/C maintenance from 1954-1957. Played softball and basketball until he was 60 years old, received the Stratford old timers athletic award in 2007. Bob retired from Kregs Inc. where he was a salesman. He was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and Men's Bible Class, FDIC and Post 16 American Legion. Bob was a longtime member of the Salvation Army Executive Board, meals-on-wheels and worked on mobile canteen for the Bridgeport rescue mission. He is survived by a niece Linda Rivard, nephews Bill and Bob Lecuyer. He was predeceased by his brother Billy and Sister Louise Lecuyer. Bob will miss his best friends Jack Barry, Gus Karazulas, Bill Greenberg and John Findley. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 10am in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday at 11am in The First Presbyterian Church, 2475 Easton Tpke, Fairfield.
