Robert E. Floyd
Robert E. Floyd, 68, of Deville, Louisiana passed away, Monday, May 23, 2016. He was born April 5, 1948 to Durham and Katherine Floyd in Pineville, Louisiana.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a graveside services at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Alan Knight officiating at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Pineville.
Robert fought in the Vietnam War and was a member of the VVA, DAV, American Legion and NRA. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendations Medal and a Bronze Star. He loved duck hunting, fishing and spending time at the camp. He loved his family above all else and was especially proud of his grandson, Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Durham and Katherine Floyd.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Stelle Marler Floyd, sons, Dale Floyd and Robert L. Floyd, his favorite daughter-in-law, Sherry Floyd and grandson, Cooper Floyd. He also left behind his beloved pups, Greta and Izzy.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Hendrix, Alan Knight, Victor Lott, Ronnie Lott, Roy Scroggs and Ernest Dubroc.

Bobby and I spent many a cold morning in his duck blind waiting for the best shot on some ducks. We also worked together at the VA hospital where we first met in classes.
