Oliver Moten Chapman
Funeral services for Oliver Moten Chapman, 98, of West Monroe, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Downsville, LA. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
Rev. Robin Roark officiated. Mr. Chapman was born in Calhoun, LA, November 10, 1917 and passed away on May 29, 2016, in Longview, Tx.
Oliver was retired from the West Monroe Post Office and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of West Monroe, La. He also served in World War II as a member of the 250th Artillery Battalion "A" Battery in Europe.
Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Shirley Robinson Chapman. He is survived by sons; Gary Chapman and wife Glenda of Longview, TX, Stanley Chapman and wife Betty of Shreveport, LA; sister, Ruth Bishop of West Monroe, Brothers Ray Chapman and wife Linda of Calhoun and Ed Chapman and wife Helen of Houston, TX. granddaughters, Tonia Chapman of Shreveport, LA, Jennifer Nagel and husband Leonard of Tampa, FL.; step-grandson, Charles Harwell and wife, Chasity of Ft. Bragg, NC; numerous great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
