Born in Torreon, Mexico April 17, 1934 and passed away May 29, 2016. Came to El Paso in 1946, married his high school sweetheart Rosa and raised a family. He is now reunited with parents Salvador & Bertha Guerrero; step mother Lucy Scicolone, Frank Scicolone, sister Maggie Gangadine, and brother Franky Scicolone. Survived by wife of 61 years Rosa R. Guerrero, Sisters Ophelia Krewedl (Wally), Irene Goodman (Mark), brother Robert Scicolone. Children Sergio S. Guerrero Jr., Ana Moncada (Paul), Roland Guerrero (Karen). Grandchildren Anthony, Dominic, Nicholas, Benjamin, & Sarah. One Great-grandchild Isabel Rose due in July. Companions Azu’car, Pinguina & Baby Meo’n. Honest, loyal, punctual & hard working father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach & educator, whose values live on through his children, grandchildren, & thousands of students, athletes & teammates that he touched. From 1973-75, Sergio was the B-team baseball & basketball coach at Coronado High. He also coached the Coronado Varsity Basketball team for eight more years. He was selected to the El Paso High Hall of Fame in 1992 and the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. In 1995, he retired after thirty-five years with the E.P.I.S.D. teaching and coaching at Ben Milam and Hart Elementary, Ross Jr. High, and Coronado High School. Viewing will be Friday June 3, at 6:00PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church with rosary at 7:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Saturday June 4, at 11:00 AM.
