I always remember Sister Giovanna during my years at St. Joan Antida High School from my Freshman year of 1966 to until I graduated from there in 1970. Sister Giovanna was also my homeroom and Religion Teacher during my Sophomore year. There were many times even throughout all of my years at St. Joan's that Sister Giovanna always gave to me her most wonderful Kindness and help. My daughter Sonja who attended St. Joan's during her 4 years there also knew Sister Giovanna very well for her most wonderful compassion and patient help and guidance. Dear Sister Giovanna, as you are now in the Divine Presence of Jesus our God and Savior, we always trust you to pray to Him for and with us to always do our best. As we always remember your most joyful smile, with your words of encouraging love of God, I know that you continue to live on with us and someday we will see one another again in God's Eternal Glory. May God Bless you and we are grateful to God for you now and always. Mary Becker Saleh--SJA 1970 and Sonja R.Saleh---SJA 1992.

Aunt Mary was kind, soft spoken and truly blessed by God. Jack and I looked forward to her Christmas message every year and Aunt Mary always personalized her letters to us. We exchanged phone calls every year and it was always a joy to hear her voice. We will miss Aunt Mary and we are truly honored and blessed to have known Aunt Mary and Sister Mary ( Sometimes we would call her Aunt Mary and sometimes we would call her Sister Mary).

I'm so happy I had the chance to see her many times after graduation. She was a truly kind, gentle and patient woman who taught us MUCH... well beyond just our subject matter. Rest in peace.

Sr. Giovanna was a very special person that I remember from my days at SJA more than a few years ago. While we will mourn her absence, the angels will rejoice with her presence. Bonnie Graczyk Helminski, SJA Class of '65.

Sr. Giovanna was a very special person to me. As Head of School at St. Joan Antida High School, she always found time to ask me about my day and find out how my dad was doing as he became more frail. When she moved to the nursing home I felt a sense of terrible loss. I now celebrate her passing into that eternal banquet with the God that she served for her lifetime. My deepest condolences and prayers are with her family and the Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida.

Sr. Giovanna was truly a special person to me. As Head of School at St. Joan Antida High School, she always found time to say hello and ask me about my day and how my father was doing as he was starting to have more health problems. She was kind and gentle soul. I missed her when she moved to the nursing facility and my heart is heavy for my own sense of personal loss. I am celebrating her passing into the eternal banquet with the God that she served for her entire life! My prayers and condolences to her family and the Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida.
