Violet (Narsis) Cannata, 87, of Middletown, wife of Nicholas L. Cannata, Sr., died Friday June 17, 2016, at Middlesex Hospital.
She was born in Bristol, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Bedrosian) Narsis. Prior to her retirement, she was the treasurer with the South Farms District Tax Office in Middletown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Nicholas L. Cannata, Jr., and his wife Denise of Middletown, and Steven M. Cannata and his wife Erin of Marlborough; two sisters, Alice Abbott and Nancy Narsis, both of Bristol; three grandchildren, Heather D’Aloisio and her husband Anson of Seattle, WA, Julie Martin and her husband Jamie of Cromwell, and Nicholas R. Cannata, of Marlborough; a great granddaughter, Allie D’Aloisio; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jenny Joseph.
Violet enjoyed going to Cape Cod, being with family, and attending her grandson's sporting events. She also looked forward to her weekly bridge games with her friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (June 22nd) at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 381 Main St., Middletown. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
