So so sorry to hear about Billy's passing. He was my dad's cousin. I met Billy and Dee once, while they visited in Houston. I loved Billy's personality and Daddy told me wonderful stories about him and his time in the war. I love knowing he is a follower of Christ and that I will see him again one day along with my parents who have passed away. I have a great picture of Billy and Dee that was taken many years ago while they were at my folks house in Houston, along with my daddy (Eugene "Gene" Gleason) and cousin Calvin Smith and other family members. I will look for it and see if I can send it to Dee or someone in the family. My paternal grandmother was a Smith by birth and married a Gleason. My heart goes out to Billy's family and to Dee.

Ch. Smith was our chaplain at Central Chapel in Ft Campbell, KY. He always had a kind word. At my husband's funeral service, he stood up and gave his condolences, which warmed my heart. May God keep his wife and children in his warm and tender love.

Words cannot adequately describe what this man of God has done here on earth. Not only a man of God but my, how he loved his wife, Dee, and children. He loved his church people, was there when you needed him. When Doug died he and Bro. Tim were there for Bill and me. He was so loved by everyone that ever met him, always a smile and how are you. We are all going to miss him, he will never be forgotten. He helped so many. May God richly bless his family, just another angel looking over us.

Brother Billy was not only my Pastor for a time. He was my 173rd Airborne Brigade Paratrooper Brother in Vietnam, he was our Brother in The Messiah Jesus, and truly a Friend that we shall miss -- until we meet with him again in our Father's Kingdom!
We loved you, Brother Billy, and always will. You were a "Happy Landing" in our lives. God Bless You and your family always!
