Francis Noel McLaughlin

Francis Noel McLaughlin, 88 of Monmouth Beach, died peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center. Born in Trenton, he had lived in Seattle before moving to Monmouth Beach in 1976. Noel was a three sport athlete at Hamilton High School (NJ), served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII on the destroyer USS Massey, and graduated Lehigh University in 1951. He was a Federal Investigator for the Civil Service Commission and rose to be the Chief of the East Coast division in New York before retiring in 1986 with 35 years of service. He was a parishioner of the Precious Blood Church in Monmouth Beach, avid golfer, Yankee fan and loved a good cigar.
Noel was the much loved patriarch of a large family and because of his extraordinary capacity to give love, many lives were enriched and his hugs will be felt in the souls of many people forever. He was predeceased by his son, Michael McLaughlin in 2009, his daughter, Sharon Novak in 2015, and his twin sister Barbara Kays. Surviving are his son, Daniel McLaughlin and his wife Adrienne of Monmouth Beach; 2 daughters, Sally McLaughlin and her husband Scott Wilson of Seattle; Lauren Mayer and her husband Mark of Brick; their mother, Beverly Rich; 8 grandchildren: Katie Mayer Lowther Senkowski, Justin Mayer, Steven Novak, Allison Porter, Charlie Wilson, Tom Wilson, Devin McLaughlin, Shane McLaughlin and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21 from 6-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral, Wednesday with a 10 am Mass at Precious Blood Church in Monmouth Beach. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
