Walter Brooks Keplinger, 74, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a member of Arbor Day and the National Rifle Association and retired from Greenbryer Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Keplinger of Elizabethtown; a son, Walter Clell Keplinger of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Kelly Keplinger-Page (Chad) of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Curtis Keplinger of Franklin, Larry Keplinger of Bowling Green and Mike Keplinger of Elizabethtown; a sister, Beverly Chambers (Leon) of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Candice Hodges (Kyle) of Fort Knox and Thomas Wheeler of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and a great-grandchild, Fintan Hodges.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Leon Chambers officiating.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.

I was so sorry to hear about Walt's passing. I too worked with Walt at RBI/SKF/Greenbrier. He was a kind and caring man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Walter is a man I worked with for many years in the roller bearing business. He is someone that I can call a real friend. Walter rest in paradise.
