Laura L. Josephs, 70, of Rocky Hill, CT, died peacefully with family by her side on June 13, 2016. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Emma (Grass) and Herbert Josephs. Laura graduated from the Bellevue School of Nursing in 1966 and worked as an RN and in corporate administration as a first career. For the last 20 years of her life, Laura was a spiritual teacher, guide, and mentor, bringing enlightenment to many, while being loving and down-to-earth herself. Laura is survived by her husband, Edward Copeland, of Rocky Hill, her son, Joseph Markim and his wife, Amy, of Middletown, her sister, Susan Shoemaker and her husband, Pat, of Jacksonville, FL, her sister-in-law, Rita Josephs, of Huntington, NY, two grandchildren, Wyatt and Willa Markim, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Josephs. A service celebrating Laura's life will be held on June 29 at 11:00 a.m at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, CT. Friends may call on June 28 from 5-7 at Biega's. Donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 with a reference to "Laura Josephs/IBC."
