Bettymae Bitters Obituary

Bitters, Bettymae A.

Bettymae A. Bitters, age 85, of the Woodlands Nursing Home of Suring, died Friday June 24, 2016 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay with family by her side.

She was born May 2, 1931 in Gillett, WI to Otto and Alma (Robinson) Heckendorf. She grew up and attended school in Gillett. After graduation, she moved to Oconto Falls. She married William "Bill" Bitters on January 28, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett. She lived most of her life in Oconto Falls and Morgan. Bettymae worked for Scott Paper, Pulaski Shoe and Oconto Falls Memorial Hospital. Betty enjoyed listening to country-western music, reading, BINGO, circle word books, and cooking, however, her greatest love was for her family and visiting with friends. She will be greatly missed.

Bettymae is survived by her two daughters: Nancy (John) Osgood of Oconto and Lynn (Jim) Petrin of Gillett; her daughter-in-law Janice Bitters of Crivitz; five grandsons: Mike (Cassie) Hendrickson of Appleton, Scott Hendrickson of Oconto, Chad (Michelle) Noack of Underhill, Jason and Adam Noack of Gillett; four great-grandchildren: Dominique, Olivia, Aiden Noack and Myrah Hendrickson. Bettymae is further survived by a sister Barbara Peterson, a brother Victor (Millie) Heckendorf, a brother-in-law Jack Bitters, and two sisters-in-law: Kathy Heckendorf and Joyce Bitters. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy on October 24, 1994 and her son Tom (Flower) Bitters on October 6, 2005. Bettymae was also preceded in death siblings Harold (Etta), Kenny (Sylvia), Otto Heckendorf and June (George) Voght; her in-law's: Myles Peterson, Bob (Kathy) and Jimmy Bitters, Betty (Donald) Young, Patsy (Maynard) Steffens, Charlotte (Jerry) Rice and Merle (Jim) Krause.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on TUESDAY, June 28, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the KUEHL FUNERAL HOME (108 E. Main Street, Gillett). Visitation continues at ST. JOHN's LUTHERAN CHURCH, the Clock Church, WEDNESDAY, June 29, 2016 from 9:30 - 10:45. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Bill Kamke officiating. Final rest will be private.

For those wishing, memorials in Bettymae's memory are appreciated to Woodlands Nursing Home, Suring, C/O Activities.

The family sends special thanks to the staffs of Woodlands Nursing Home, Suring, Bellin Hospital and Unity Hospice. Your kindness will never be forgotten

Nancy and family,
I want to express sympathy in the passing of your mother. It's hard to lose your parents, but we all have to endure that sadness in our lives. I remember your Mom during our rowdy teen years growing up. She always was a pleasant lady to me. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. It's funny how we live in the same town and don't come across each other.
Take care and God Bless!
