Trilla Johnston
BARTONVILLE - Trilla M. Johnston, 98, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria, Illinois.
She was born on October 22, 1917, in Heyworth, Illinois, to Chester and Jennie (Frear) Roseman Sr. She first married John Dutton and he preceded her in death. She was later married to Harold Johnston on June 29, 1946, in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 1968 in Bartonville.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
She is survived by two children, Richard (Shirley) Dutton of Bartonville and Frances (Donald Sr.) Majors of Peoria. She has four grandchildren, Vicki Canty, Alan Dutton, Don Majors Jr. and Craig Majors Sr. Trilla has six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She worked for the Armour Meat Packing Company, S and C Drug Store and the Commercial National Bank, all in Peoria. She was a member of the Limestone Women's Democrat Club, Eagles Lodge and Armour's Birthday Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. Trilla was always full of energy, never met a stranger, was quick with a joke and loved to dance.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Craig Hislope will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or to a charity of the donor's choice. You may create an online condolence at www.davison-fulton-bartonvillechapel.com.

I will always remember her smile and laughter. She will be missed by so many. Now she is in heaven reminiscing with the Closen women and laughing.
