Ruby W. Vaughan
Burdette - Ruby Wade Vaughan, 86, passed away June 26, 2016. Ruby was a native of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Willie Edward Wade and Sarah Luter Wade. She was predeceased by her husband, William W. Vaughan, Jr. and two sisters and two brothers, Frances Councill, Catherine McGeoch, Owen Wade and Leon Wade.
Ruby was a member of Burdette Baptist Church and was a 1947 graduate of Ivor High School. She loved the outdoors, live music, dancing and family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, June Vaughan Hill of Richmond, Donna Vaughan Beale (Benjamin) of Courtland and Tammy Vaughan Newsom (Wendell) of Burdette, five grandchildren, Sarah E. Hill, Alison R. Hill, Zoe R. Beale, Jacob L. Beale and William L. Newsom and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2PM Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and other times at Ruby's home in Burdette. Ruby's wishes were for those who choose to remember her, to give money to someone who needs it (because she did). www.wrightfuneralhome.org
