Brandon Dion Coles, Jr.

Mr. Brandon Dion Coles Jr., affectionately known as “B Coles” of North Dinwiddie VA, departed this life on Sunday, August 21, 2016.

He was one of four children, born to Brandon Dion Coles Sr. and Theresa Coles of North Dinwiddie, Va. Brandon was born on May 23, 1991. Brandon was preceded in death by his grand-fathers Roy Coles and Mack Fitzgerald and Uncle Harry “Junnie” Hudson.

At an early age, Brandon confessed Christ, joining Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Piney Beach, Va. and later joined Spirit of Life Christian Church in Blackstone, Va. where he played drums. During his youth, Brandon was involved in numerous sport activities. He played baseball with the Sutherland Dixie Youth League and played basketball and football with the Dinwiddie Recreation League. Brandon attended Dinwiddie County Senior High School where he was a member of the Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball team, Junior Varsity Football team, then later graduated with the Class of 2009.

To know Brandon was to love him. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Brandon was always known “as the life of the party”. Brandon loved his hometown “Piney Beach”, where you could always find him “posted under the tree”. Brandon was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan. He also enjoyed playing basketball, dancing, rapping and being among his friends “MMG and NEWBREEDZ’.

Brandon leaves to cherish his memories, his only son Xavier Coles. His loving and devoted parents Brandon Dion Coles Sr. and Theresa Coles. Three siblings whom he loved and adored Dionca, Taneisha, and Terrell Coles. Two beautiful nieces Kierstin Evans and Aubrey Coles. One loving and devoted aunt Bertha (Marvin) Coles. Grandparents Veronica “Elaine” Coles and Ruby Hudson. Great grandparents Carrie Batts and Adlean Hudson. Several aunts and uncles. A godmother Gloria Browder-Parham (Dennis). Three god sisters Zarquasia Hicks, Nikiya Brown, and Jasmine Parham. Three god brothers Za’Mare Hudson, Kahmari Brown, and Desmane Coles. Devoted friends Victoria Lassiter and Hazel Jackson, mother of his son. A host of cousins and friends, among them devoted Shaniece Coles, Dequan Coles, Monique Gholson, Kaleiyah Coles, Angela Coles, Charles “Cj” Coles Jr, Maurice Prosise, Javon Hudson, Larry Lassiter, LaMaris Prosise, Stefan Harper, Arnold “Junnie” Coles Jr. Sam Haskins, Jarrel White, Tyquan Prosise, Khalee Prothro and Family, and the entire “Piney Beach Community”.

A funeral service for Mr. Brandon Dion Coles, Jr. will be held on Saturday August 27, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie Virginia. Burial will follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 530 South Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA.
