Julia M. Mathies 1912 - 2016
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Julia M. Mathies, 104, of Springfield, died at 3:15 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born May 7, 1912, in Hornsby, Ill., to Otto George and Mesina Barnes Bohlmeyer. She married Lawrence Charles Mathies and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, William Bohlmeyer; a sister, Alice Jenkins; and grandson, Guy Truax.
Surviving are her daughter, Carol (Eugene) Truax of Girard; one son, Larry (Martha) Mathies of Flagler Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Julia was a homemaker.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Alice Cunningham officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Pleasant Hill Village, 1010 W. North St., Girard, IL 62640.
