I knew Phil and his family in our youth growing up in the very small Kansas town of Syracuse. We were good friends. He was an excellent varsity football player, a leader in the Boy Scouts and in High School. Just a gregarious great guy who was always a lot of fun, which is why he was quite a popular person. I feel privileged to have had him as a friend. May he have peace among the Angels.

I worked with Phil at the US Postal Mail Processing Center in Portsmouth, and he was always a gentleman and a scholar. Very knowledgeable and always open to new ideas and suggestions that could help others. Had a great sense of humor even under pressure, and always saw the best in others.
Phil will be missed, and I will keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember Phil from the time I was Music Director/Organist at St. James Church in Portsmouth and Phil sang in the choir. He was truly an asset to the choir, very good voice, warm and friendly. He will be missed. May he sing with all the saints and angels.
