Lois and Dale Ryan were wonderful friends to my parents, remaining in touch with them after they had moved to Florida, and then to North Carolina. The Ryans were very active members of First Presbyterian Church, and contributed in many ways over the years. I enjoyed reminiscing with Lois at the 100th anniversary of the church -- she made me feel welcome, even though it had been 30 years since I'd been back to Royal Oak. Her family has my condolences at her passing.

I was so sorry to hear about Lois' passing. She was a lovely lady and had a great influence on so many people at First Pres. She always greeted me when I came back to the church for a visit with a "Hi Marty"-always making me feel welcome . She will be truly missed for her energy and dedication.

To all of Lois' family, my deep sorrow at her passing. Lois was a sorority sister of my Mothers, and a life long deer friend. In times of great joy and great sadness, and all the in between times, she was always there to lend support and a helping hand. A few years ago my sister and I were visiting Loie in Royal Oak. She took us on a tour of the area, and a walk down memory lane. Places and stories of our childhood and our parents and her family. Loie had an amazing memory and was a prolific story teller. We laughed and laughed and had yet another wonderful time with her. Her spirit and her joy will be hugely missed. I feel so fortunate to have known Loie.

I'm so sorry to hear of Lois' passing. It's been my pleasure to talk with her about her joy from being able to watch Detroit Public TV almost exclusively and listen to our WRCJ classical music, as well as her love of organ music and pride and love for her family, who have my condolences. I never got to meet Dale, but she told me how much he'd have appreciated the documentary we produced about Detroit's Houses of Worship. Most of all, I'll miss talking with Lois.
