Joyce Ann Funk

Joyce Ann Funk, 83, left this world on Saturday, October 1st 2016 to join her savior in Heaven.
She was born in Oklahoma on August 5th, 1933 to William and Bessie Francis Adams, she was the youngest of four. She attended Seminole High School in Oklahoma. At age 18, Joyce moved to Huntington Park, California where her older sister was living. It was in Southern California that she met and fell in love with Harold Ivan Funk. They were married in 1958 and enjoyed 42 years of marriage, camping, visits to the coast and raising their daughter, Karen. They attended and served by teaching children's Sunday School at Downey First Baptist.
Joyce worked for 38 years as a secretary and administrative assistant in the engineering department at Ameron Concrete and Steel Pipe Systems in South Gate, CA. She cared about her work and used her organizational expertise to keep the engineers and the company running.
Joyce and Harold moved to Turlock in late 1999 to be closer to family. She spent the last 17 years in Turlock, CA serving in her church and Bible study groups and caring for friends and neighbors. She loved her family, flowers, and ministering to others.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Harold, brother William, and sisters Dorothy and Wilma.
She is survived by daughter, Karen and her husband Bob McCulla; two granddaughters, Kathryn McCulla and Emma and her husband Evan Carpenter all of Turlock, CA, and 9 nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 15, at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA.
