Rosalie Marie (Colca) Tamburro passed away on October 18, 2016 surrounded by her family after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. She was born in Springfield, MA on June 9, 1929 to Gregory and Mary Colca. Rosalie leaves behind the love of her life and husband of more than 67 years, William L. Tamburro, Sr. Mom spent her childhood in Thompsonville, CT before marrying and moving to Windsor, CT for 18 years and East Lyme, CT for 33 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother Patrick and Janet Colca, son John and Cathy, daughter Maria and Charlie Higgins, daughter Lisa and Mark Arute, son Jim and Suzanne and daughter-in-law Paula. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mom was predeceased in 2010 by her beloved son William L. Tamburro, Jr. and in 2014 by her beloved great-grandson Benjamin Buckley. Mom was a deeply spiritual woman, a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a trained and certified piano teacher. In addition to her family responsibilities, she was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America including service as Grand Regent. In East Lyme, with Dad, she was a very active supporter of the Lion's Club. She was very active in the Woman's clubs of Windsor and East Lyme. Her family extends their thanks to the kind care givers at the Village at Buckland Court, White Oaks in Manchester and most recently, the Residence at South Windsor Farms. We send thanks to the dedicated caregivers from Home Instead who provided loving and compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 am at St. Joseph's Church, 1747 Poquonock Avenue, Windsor, on Saturday, leaving from the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Enfield. Calling Hours are being held at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor, CT on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm.
