ROBERT SUNDERLAND
BUCKLAND — Robert A. "Bob" Sunderland, 83, of Buckland, died Mon. Nov. 14, 2016, at Grand Lake St. Marys, while doing something he enjoyed, fishing. He was born July 3, 1933, in Buckland, the son of Emerson & Marcella (Zerkel) Sunderland who preceded him in death. On July 22, 1955, he married Mary Lou Spees, and she survives.
Other survivors include, 3 children, Robert A. (Vicki) Sunderland, Wapakoneta, Kelle (Tim) LeRoy, Colorado Springs, CO, Jill (Tony) Elliott, Wapakoneta, 6 grandchildren, Staci Kay Sunderland, Jamie Kay (Joseph) Waite, Nicholas James Elliott, Shaun Bradley (Danielle) LeRoy, Justin Scott Elliott, Eric Michael LeRoy, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Judy Kingsborough, Fremont, OH, a sister-in-law, Sue Kohler, Wapakoneta, numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley A. Sunderland, and 2 brothers, Donald & James Sunderland.
Bob retired from Superior Tube Co., Wapakoneta, after 41 years of service. A 1952 graduate of Buckland High School, Bob was a member of the Buckland United Church of Christ. He was a former member of the St. Marys Eagles Aerie # 767 and a former member of the National Cur & Feist Association. An avid outdoorsman, he was happiest when he was fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Bob also enjoyed helping others.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Mon. Nov. 21, 2016, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta, with Pastor Adrian Sunday officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will follow in the Buckland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-6 p.m., Sun. and 1 hr. prior to the service Mon. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be expressed at www.bayliffandeleyfh.com.
