Philip Gerard Johnston March 5, 1929 - January 8, 2017 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Philip at the age of 87 years. Born in Montreal, Quebec to father Charles Johnston and mother Laura Fiset. Predeceased by his beloved wife Norma May (nee Weeks). Loving father of Cynthia and Cheryl. A proud grandfather, he is survived by his treasured grandchildren Dale (Louise), Kirsten (Chris), Justin (Sandra), Daniel (Christina) and their respective fathers, and his great-grandchildren Jaxson, Nolan and Simon, who were the joy of his life. Lovingly remembered by his nieces Lorraine, Susan (Lorne) and Jackie (Ted), whom he loved as daughters, and by all of their children and their parents Bruno and Phyllis Dansereau. Together, his five girls were his "Little Women." Predeceased by his siblings Gay, Paul, Charlie and Lorraine. Survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Greatly missed by his lifelong friends Ben Benatti, Fern Dmuchalsky and Mary Twynam. To those who knew him, Philip was an avid traveler, golfer, and film and music connoisseur. A memorial service and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. We love you Dad, we'll miss you.

Dear Cheryl and Cindy, we were so very sorry to hear of Uncle Phil's passing. My daughters got to meet Uncle Phil at some of Ron's barbecues and at our Reunion in 2015. They also would like to pass on their deepest condolences. A very very special man, Uncle Phil entertained us with his wealth of information and family stories of growing up with our Dad, Summers at the cottage, etc. He will truly be missed by all. Our hearts go out to both of you and your families at this time.

I have fond memories of uncle Philip's wonderful smile whenever he visited his older brother, Charlie, at the house in Dorval, when we were kids. He was such a great guy. So sad to learn of his passing.
