Silvio Del Vecchio
AGE: 90 • Del Ray Beach, FL and Point Pleasant
Silvio DelVecchio, 90, of Del Ray Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his daughter's home in Point Pleasant. Mr. Del Vecchio retired in 1971 as the owner of Chem-Spray Filling Corporation in Cedar Grove, NJ. He started his career in 1945 at the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics, Inc. and was a civilian aircraft mechanic. He then went on to become a mechanic at Fluid Chemical, Inc. advancing to the foreman within the company. In 1958, he went to work for Revlon where he was the mechanic crew chief and before owning his successful company he worked for SunLac as the Production Manager.
Mr. DelVecchio loved to fly. He was very proud to have earned his private pilot's license. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Kings Point Florida Men's Golf Club as well as the Kings Point Florida Italian American Club in Del Ray Beach, FL.
Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Bloomfield and Middletown before moving to Delray Beach, FL in 1971. While in New Jersey he enjoyed spending, time at his daughter and son-in-laws home with his two granddaughters in Point Pleasant.
He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Agatha (Palmeri) Del Vecchio; and by his 2nd wife, Ann (Grandinetti) Del Vecchio. Surviving are his son, Pasquale (Pat) DelVecchio II and his wife, Donna of Loveland, CO; daughter, Deborah Danziger and her husband, Robert of Point Pleasant; brother, Richard Del Vecchio of Belleville; grandchildren, Dana (Danziger) Cerrullo and her husband, Christopher, Stacy (Danziger) Bole and her husband, Ian, and Pasquale Del Vecchio III and his wife, Jackie; as well as three great grandchildren, Pasquale IV, Lilith and Emily Rose.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 2-4pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 3:30pm in the funeral home. Donations may be made in his name to the St. Jude Children's Research Foundation.
