Mrs. Harris as a 4-H leader, mentor and individual has had tremendous impact to those around her.
To name just a few of Mrs. Harris positive imprints that she left with those of us she touched in the 4-H program;
1. Her unfailing ability to find the good in all of us.
2. Her firm belief in us that we could rise to the occasions and project expectations. (Yes, even it meant taking out the same bad sewing stitch several times!)
3. Her quick guidance and support when we waivered.
4. Her selfless, untiring, deep love and fervent drive to ensure we succeeded. (Not that she succeeded but that WE succeeded).
Mrs. Harris has left a wake of positive impacts on so many people's lives.and my daughter and I feel honored to have been two of them.

A 4-H Tribute to Cindy Harris
When thinking about McHenry County 4-H program, listening to all of the great things that the community is saying, and having had the opportunity to know Cindy, I am confident that God allowed me to meet an extraordinary human being. As I read Cindy's obituary, my heart witnessed with the statement that Cindy embodied the spirit of "making the best better!"
In her Head she knew that 4-H would be a cornerstone that would help youth develop life skills that would propel them. Within her Heart she felt an extreme love for the program, youth, families and the community she served. Her Hands were always eager to help anyone in need. Lastly, in Health she held on to the 4-H creed with every ounce of strength within her.
People come into our life disguised as angels, and sometimes angels come into our life disguised as people. People like Retired 4-H Community Worker Cindy Harris are rare. Inspiring youth to rise to higher and greater levels was her gift and she loved it with all her heart and soul. Cindy shaped the lives of so many youth and adults in her years of working for Extension. We will forever miss her but grateful that she passed thought the McHenry County Extension 4-H program.

Every time I cook or bake I use skills I learned from Cindy, and now I am passing those same lessons on to my kids. I crack eggs, measure flour and test for doneness the way she taught me. What a phenomenal example she was to her daughters and all of her 4-H kids of selfless service and a life well-lived. She will be truly missed and long-remembered. Deepest sympathies, Meredith and Nancy. Your mom was a really special lady.
