Edna W. Stitt April 11, 1923 February 22, 2017 Edna W. Stitt, 93, of rural Howard, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College. Edna was born on April 11, 1923, in Duncansville, a daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Heller Magill. On September 1, 1941, she married Edgar R. Stitt, Jr. who preceded her in death on October 7, 1996. Edna is survived by her son, Ronald E. (Sue) Stitt, of Edinboro; and her daughter, Debra J. (Scott) Rhoat, of Howard. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Molly Stitt-Fischer (Doug), Katie Jones (Matthew) and Megan Rhoat. Edna was a homemaker. She was a member of Curtin United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, church treasurer, chairperson and secretary of the administrative board of the church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew S. Rhoat; her sisters, Mildred Dickson and Louise Mort; and her brothers, Charles Magill, Raymond Magill, Glenn Magill, Edgar Magill, and Ellsworth Magill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Curtin United Methodist Church, 305 Curtin Village Road, Howard, PA 16841 or to a charity of the donor's choice. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will at Alto-Reste Park Chapel, Altoona, at the convenience of the family with Pastor Kathleen Danley officiating. Burial will be at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Altoona. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg.
