Died March 18, 2017
Mr. Lamar Benjamin Bagwell, 87, of Oakwood, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, in the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Myles Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Bagwell was born in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Emory and Ruth Light Bagwell. He served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Oakwood for 60 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Flowery Branch for 10 years. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of working as a shop foreman.
Mr. Bagwell is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ann Hill Bagwell, of Oakwood; son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Susan Bagwell, of Flowery Branch; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Don Sheppard, of Oakwood; sisters, Montez Cofer, of Flowery Branch, and Evelyn Jones, of Flowery Branch; grandson, Tim Bagwell; five great-grandchildren, Wesley, Tes, Trent, August and Simon Bagwell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Scott Bagwell; brother, Alwin Bagwell; and sister, Ellen Brown.

I am so sorry I have just found out of Lamar's passing.
