Carol Horton Obituary

Horton, Carol Ann (Norkofski)

Carol Ann (Norkofski) Horton, 67, of Oshkosh passed away on April 2, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center after a long battle with kidney disease.

Carol was born on December 29, 1949, the daughter of Warren and Gene Norkofski. She graduated from Lourdes Academy in 1968. Carol married Robert Horton on November 4, 1972. They happily celebrated 44 years of marriage. Over the years Carol worked for The Banner Store, as a demo lady at Copps Food Center, as a receptionist for Blum Dental and for Dr. Wedde.

Carol loved visiting with her family, cooking and baking, and her yearly trip to Rhinelander, WI. She enjoyed playing Mexican Train dominoes, cribbage, and watching The Packers and The Wisconsin Badgers.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Robert, sons Scott (Heidi) Horton of Oshkosh, Russell (Sarah) Horton of Stoughton, WI, daughter Kelly (Christopher) Rehm of Oshkosh, her five grandchildren Hunter, Piper, Gabriel, and Grace Horton and Samuel Rehm. She is further survived by her brothers Michael (Ann) Norkofski of Neenah, Dennis (Lindy) Norkofski, and Timothy (Paula) Norkofski of Oshkosh, as well as many loved brother- and sister-in laws and nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by both of her parents and her grandson Daniel Rehm.

Funeral services will be held at Poklasny Funeral Home at 870 W. South Park Ave on Thursday April 6; visitation from 3 - 5 pm and service at 5 pm.

Carol's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staffs at Fresenius Kidney Care, Aurora Medical Center, and Eden Meadows.

I know Carol is resting easy now. She has no more pain and no more needle pokes. I was honored to care for her. She was always laughing and telling many stories of her family trips to Rhinelander. She truly will be missed. Please remember, on warm sunny days, take a moment to look to the Heavens...feel the warmth of the sun on your face...that is Carol blowing you kisses. She was an angel on earth and is an angel in Heaven...she earned her wings. Hugs!

Dear Bob and family, how can words express what the heart can't begin to feel. Russell's was very elegant and heartfelt. Thanks. Kelly and Dennis-both fond and beautiful expressions. Carol wow she was one of my friends that could always tell it like it was but have that little giggle to soften the blow. To say she had a mama bear love was right on. Such a big heart and great fight, She is so missed already. Rest in peace dear Carol.
