Jean Conner Hocutt

Lydia Jean Conner Baker Hocutt, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 9th. She resided at Hillside Nursing Center in Wake Forest. She was born to Alice and Fenner Conner in December 21, 1931. She resided in Wake and Franklin counties, and in St. Augustine, Florida. She retired while in Florida from the St. John's County Property Appraisers' Office, but her favorite jobs were always those of wife, mother, and grandmother. She dearly loved her family, friends, church, books, flowers, little daschunds, and desserts! Everyone who knew her thought she was a special lady. Her two sons were devoted to her during her last year of declining health. She had many other visitors from family, church, and neighborhood. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Robert Baker and Nancy Baker, son Jerry Baker and Carla Powell, brother, Billy Conner and Carolyn Conner, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Linwood Baker, husband Aaron Hocutt, and her daughter, Paula Baker.
Funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Greg Lawson, at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Zebulon,N.C. at 2:00 Thursday. Burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors prior to the service beginning at 12:45.

My sincere condolences. I am so thankful that I got to know Jean and so much enjoyed our visits. She was such a special lady and always talked about her loving family and how proud she was of you all. May you find peace in knowing she is no longer suffering and I believe in a much better place... God Bless.
