MASON — Joseph W. Jones, 90, of Mason, passed away April 11, 2017 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born July 14, 1926 in Konnarock, Va., a son of the late Bill Henry and Etta (Huffman) Jones. He was also preceded by his wife, Ruby Jones; twin sister, Mary Holiday; sisters, Ada Kincaid, Evelyn Simmons and Ruby Wyant; brothers, Roy Jones, Richard (Dick) Jones and Thurman Jones.
He retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation with 27 years of service as an air condition specialist and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #5568, Ravenswood. He served in World War II as a coxswain in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Excel. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 9926 Mason. He attended the Mason United Methodist Church for 60 years and enjoyed reading the bible, music, and gardening.
Survivors include his son, Joel Keith Jones; daughter, Deborah (David) Patterson, Martha (Ralph) Sayre and Mary (David) Smith; grandchildren, Sarah Marie (John) Huban, Nathan (Carrie) Sayre, Duane (Kristen) Sayre and Linde Sayre; great-granddaughters; Emma Huban and Rowan Sayre.
Service will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at the Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Junior Church at Mason United Methodist Church, c/o Ruth Pickens, 5245 Graham Station Road, Letart, W.V. 25253.

We were devastated to hear the news of Mr. Jones passing away. He was always so sweet to me and especially to my daughter Sydnee. He was the one person she looked for as soon as we would come into church on Sunday morning. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all the families...
