Stankowski, Michael
Michael Dominic Stankowski, age 66, of Greenville, Wisconsin, died at home on Friday, April 21, 2017.
Michael was born on April 11, 1951 in Wausau to Dominic and Marcella (Marsh-Kort) Stankowski. He attended UW Stevens Point and Fox Valley Tech. He married Char Gavinski on September 19, 1989. In 1990, Michael was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that left him disabled, but he never let that stop him from enjoying life. He loved hunting, fishing, swimming, and speed- whether in his boat or riding his motorcycle. Michael was always the center of any family gathering by entertaining and telling jokes or being the leader in mischief. He was larger than life itself and could charm anyone he came in contact with.
Michael is survived by his wife Char Stankowski of Greenville; children Nathan (Jennifer) Stankowski of Rothschild, Caroleann (Jack) Ohannessian of Salem, NH, and Libbe (Mark) Slavin of Kronenewetter; grandchildren Madison Stankowski, Jacob and Joseph Ohannessian, and Ella and Bode Slavin; father Dominic Stankowski of Weston; sister Jessica (Robert) O'Donnell of McFarland and special niece Hayley of Rhode Island; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marlene and Keith Kappel; brother in law Marvin Gavinski; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. It did not matter if you were family or not, he was always everyone's uncle.
He is preceded in death by his mother Marcella Stankowski; paternal grandparents Frank and Julia Stankowski; and maternal grandparents Irene and Wallace Kort.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 6101 Zinser St., Weston.
