Murphy Jean Rodrigue Jr., 66, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017. He was a native of Thibodaux, LA and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 9 a.m. until service time at Maria Immacolata Church in Houma, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 1 p.m. Thursday at Maria Immacolata Church with burial to follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Murphy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years; Adeline Trahan Rodrigue; Children, Sherry Rodrigue and husband Chad, Shelly Rodrigue Abbott and husband Neil Abbott III; Grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, and Payton; Brother, Steward Rodrigue and wife Joy and Sister, Arlene Rodrigue Benoit; Mother-in-Law, Mamie Trahan, Brother-in-Law, Linwood Trahan.
He was preceded by his, Parents, Murphy Jean Rodrigue Sr. and Lena Chiasson Rodrigue; Sister, Patricia Rodrigue; Brother, Michael Rodrigue; Father-in-Law, Leonce Trahan.
Murphy was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Maria Immaculata Church, where he served both on the parish council and in the Knights of Columbus. His big heart, contagious smile and sense of humor will be missed by many.

Murphy was a great neighbor and a remarkable man, so very nice. Will miss talking to him and see him walking to Shelly's house. God bless the family and R.I.P. Murphy.

Adeline, unfortunately, because of work I will not be there Thursday but know my prayers are with you and your family. I will miss Murphy tremendously, he was a good and faithful servant to the Lord.
