FRANKLINVILLE - Douglas Lockhart, 78, formerly of Franklinville, died June 8, 2017, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.
Born on Sept. 7, 1938, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of the late Cortland and Virginia Lilac Lockhart. He was married on Feb. 10, 1956, to the former Vera Jonas, who survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Ft. Yukon, Alaska.
Douglas was employed at Otis Steel, Ellicottville, and was a heavy equipment operator on the Alaska Pipeline and worked locally.
He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Salamanca, and was an avid motorcycle rider.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Bacelli of Great Valley; a granddaughter, Jessica Bacelli of Salamanca; a grandson, Mitchell (Megan) Bacelli of Salamanca; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Tarr, Shawn Bacelli and Maelonnee Bacelli, all of Salamanca; five sisters, Patricia Lockhart of Pennsylvania, Frances (Willy) Cheeser of Las Vegas, Thelma (Dan) Budzinski of Rochester, Beverly (Joe) Thompson of Hanover, Pa., and Martha (Rick) Armstrong of Salamanca; two brothers, Robert (Mary Lou) Lockhart of Kendall and George (Milly) Lockhart of Franklinville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jackie Lockhart; and three brothers, William Lockhart, Vernon Lockhart and Joseph Lockhart.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (July 5, 2017) in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville, with the Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Franklinville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9487.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
