Susie Zapffel Obituary

Susie Amanda Barbour Zapffel, 96, of Craven County, NC, passed away with family by her side at the CarolinaEast Medical Center on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Susie was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Paul Willis Zapffel, Anna Zapffel, and Jan Zapffel Carpenter (and husband Howard Primrose Carpenter, Jr.), four grandchildren, Amber Zapffel (and husband Paul-Scott Schernitzki), Joshua Howard Carpenter, Jason Paul Carpenter and Sean Paul Clark (and wife Geneva Tiffany Clark) and two great-grandchildren, Tobias Allan Clark and Austin Marcus Clark.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 am Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. Burial followed at New Bern National Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.cottenfuneralhome.com.
