Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Hope Covenant Church in St. Cloud for Viola D. Fast who passed away Thursday at Sterling Park Nursing Home in Waite Park. Rev. Keith Meyer will officiate and burial will be at Benton Cemetery in Sauk Rapids following the service. Friends and family may gather from 10 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.
Viola was born August 23, 1919 to Edward and Elsie (Weide) Ewy in Butterfield. She married Jacob Fast March 1, 1944 at Butterfield Mennonite Church. When Viola wasn't cheering on the Minnesota Twins or Minnesota Gophers you could find her reading a book. She kept her hands busy crocheting and making doilies and sewing lace on pillow cases, and embroidery. Viola kept her flower garden beautiful and loved to watch birds and spend time with her family. She was a very strong, quiet, fun woman.
Viola is survived by her children, Elaine (George) Thole of Buffalo, Jim (Alice) Fast of Robbinsdale, Roxie Fast of St. Cloud; sister, Ruby Pankratz of Mountain Lake; grandchildren, Dean (Lori) Thole of Columbia Heights, Scott Thole (Mia Delie) of Rogers; great grandchildren, Nicholas Thole, Cecelia Thole, Kaya Thole; step great grandchildren, Sara, Kaison, Kyler; great great grandchildren Cason and Rhett; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob who passed away in 1969; daughter, Mavis Fast; and sister, Elizabeth Barge.
