Charles Lewis Doyle, 81, Cynthiana, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Harrison County on Oct. 14, 1935 to the late Orville and Annie Doyle, and was preceded in death by three brothers, David Doyle, A.J. Doyle and Donnie Doyle and two sisters, Eunice Moyers and Marjorie Fryman.
He was active in the United States Army where he served two terms, from 1958 until 1964 and was ranked Sergeant E-5. He was a retired tobacco farmer, former part-time employee of Clay's Tobacco Seed Company, attended Indian Creek Baptist Church and was a proud member of Woodmen Life.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shelby Jones Doyle; three sons, Jeff (Darlene) Doyle, Greg (Terry) Doyle and Robert (Aleta) Doyle; a daughter, Sharon (Willie) Riggle; a sister, Phyllis (Bobby) Brady; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Tom Moore. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Creek Baptist Church.
