Post, Doris
Doris June Post, 96, passed away August 17, 2017 at Markesan Resident Home where she lived for the past 10 years.
Doris was born February 28, 1921 on their family farm in the Brandon area, the daughter of William and Winnie Rens Westerveld. On September 1, 1948 she married the love of her life, John Post. Doris held many jobs throughout her life, but was most of all a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, and was a member of the Women's Guild. She was also a den mother for the Boy Scouts.
Doris is survived by two sons: Bill (Judi) Post of Brandon, and Mark (Margene) Post of Princeton; five grandchildren: Kyle (Peggy) Post, Korey (Sarah) Post, Kelly (Heath) Boelter, Jonathan (Jenni) Post, and Jennifer Post; eight great-grandchildren: Cody and Makinna Post, Madison Shirk, Brady, Brianna, and Brandon Boelter, and Brock and Blaise Post; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Pat Gebhard.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1992; her parents, Will and Winnie Westerveld; a brother, Winton Westerveld and his wife, Marie; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services for Doris Post will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon with Rev. John Tilstra officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Doris was and always will be in my heart. She was a wonderful women and will be greatly and dearly missed by all of those that she had came in contact with very sorry to hear about this mark and bill

Doris has always held a special piece of my heart. I considered her a friend, and both of my children loved her as their own grandma. She will be missed by all. Sweet dreams Doris.
