Ruth Coble Brown, 88, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Sunday August 20, 2017 at 6 a.m.
A native of Alamance County she was the wife of Claude Ellsworth "C.E." Brown, who survives, and the daughter of Paul M. Coble and Mable Sharpe Coble, both deceased.
She was the bookkeeper and owner of Suburban Mobile Home Court.
Ruth enjoyed cooking for her family especially for her grandchildren who she loved dearly. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband of the home she is survived by two daughters, Lynette Brown Stewart and husband Wayne of Amissville, VA and Hope Shepherd and husband Jeff of the Village of Alamance; her son, Joel E. Brown and wife Beverly of Burlington; six grandchildren, Sunni Walters, Whitney Sandor, Mackenzie Brown, Justin Duszlak, Laura Shepherd, and Jeffrey Shepherd; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Swinson and Sue Coble; and brother, P.J. Coble.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Steve Coble.
A funeral service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:30 a.m by Rev. Daniel Gregory.
Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance – Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

Hope, I have tried to find you so often and was saddened to find that your sweet mother had passed away. I just loved her so much! I don't know your last name now but please contact me! I loved staying at your house and how welcoming and kind your mother was, so many good memories!

Hope, I am so sorry about your Mom. Seeing her picture brought back some good memories of me spending the night at your house. She was a wonderful, kind, sweet and loving lady. Heaven has truly gain an angel.
