Jo Anne Jacobs passed into the arms of Jesus after a short illness. She was 86 years old.
Jo Anne was a native of Southern California, where she raised five children and was a member of and often sang in her church, First Baptist Church of Huntington Beach-Fountain Valley. She retired from the Long Beach Police Department as a fingerprint classifier. In 2005, she moved to Georgia to live with her daughter, Deborah Timmons Hill. At the time of her death, Jo Anne was a resident of The Lodge at Bethany.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Carol F. McComb and Thelma Mae Harvey McComb; a sister, Carole McComb Clark; and two sons, Wayne Jacobs and David Jacobs.
She leaves behind two daughters, Deborah Timmons Hill and Leslie Timmons Rollins, both of Statesboro; five grandchildren, Heather JoAnne Hendrix Merritt, Naethan Hendrix, Timothy Hendrix, Khara Klein and Sean Jacobs; and 12 great-grandchildren, Alexandra Hendrix-Merritt, Victoria Merritt, Luke Merritt, Karah Hendrix, Simeon Hendrix, Jeremiah Hendrix, Ethan Hendrix, Sarah Hendrix, Payton Prescott, Gavin Bohanan, Angelina Jacobs and Francesca Jacobs.
A small memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. September 7, 2017, in the chapel of The Lodge at Bethany, 77 Bethany Way, Statesboro, Ga.
