Elizabeth Freytag Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Freytag, 72, of Canton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 24, 2017. Born in Hartford, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Edna (Dewey) Freytag. Elizabeth worked as a clerk and claims processor at Phoenix Mutual for 25 years, and then later for Petroleum Meter & Pump in Avon, where she remanufactured printers and other mechanical devices. Elizabeth loved her family dearly and she will be forever missed by those who knew her. Elizabeth is survived by a brother, Harold Freytag, Jr.; her three nephews, Harold Freytag III, William Freytag, and David Freytag (Laura); niece, Theresa Brunette (Franklin); four great-nephews and nieces, Griffin Brunette, Ana-Gem Brunette, Seth Freytag, and Jessica Freytag; two great-great nephews, Jayden Freytag and Jacob Gadeke; her dear friend Susan Gannon; and her at-home companion, Maxine. A Memorial Service for Elizabeth will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 16 at the North Canton Community United Methodist Church, North Canton, CT. A private burial ceremony will be held following the service. All attendees are welcome to join the family for a reception at the church after the service. Our deepest sympathy to the Freytag family... We were in shock to hear of Betty's passing. She was a great friend and cousin. Betty had a heart of gold and would have done anything for anyone. My husband Dan(Brown) was her cousin and we also worked with her at PMP. Betty always said that if she hadn't told Dan to get a job there him and I would have never met. I thank her for that. She was a great friend. She will be missed. Dan & Cheryl Brown

Harold and your children. I can't believe my cousin died. It was a shock to me as I suspect it was to you all. Betty was a smart gal. I will miss her. More and more of our family, yours and mine, are leaving. May Betty rest in piece. Evelyn
