Betty Lou Carlson January 11, 1920 - August 25, 2017 San Diego Betty Lou Carlson (ne Williams) died peacefully in her home at the age of 97. Her son and daughter were with her.Betty is survived by daughter Susan, son Donald, grandchildren Devon & Melissa, great-grandchild Julian, sister Peggy and niece Pat.Betty was born in Denver, CO. At a young age she moved with her family to San Diego. She graduated from Hoover High School and later ran an office for a company providing home-study education to our military personnel. She married Robert Carlson in June 1945.Betty was a lifelong member of The League of Women Voters and volunteered in the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop for many years. She loved crosswords, crafts, card & board games, and discovering/learning. She also enjoyed travelling over the years with husband Robert and friends Avis, Bunty, Edna and Jack.A ceremony will be held at Green Hills in October with close friends and family. Betty asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.Condolences may be sent to the family at Betty's home address or posted online at www.clairemontmortuary.com. With deepest sympathy, I am so sorry to hear of your loss . I am also familiar with losing a loved one. May you also find comfort and strength in Psalm 145:18,19 in knowing that our Almighty God is near to all those calling on him and he hears them. The impact that she on made on her family and on those she home schooled will always be remembered.
