Duane Lynn Jones, age 86 of Concord, husband of Carol (Batchelder) Jones passed away Sunday evening Oct. 15th, 2017 with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Duane was born on December 19, 1930 in Clear Lake, Wisconsin the son of the late Clyde Leland and Edith (Johnson) Jones. He was educated in Clear Lake schools graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1948. Duane then briefly attended River Falls State Teachers College from 1949 to 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. Duane attended Brown University from 1956 to 1960 Majoring in Psychology, minoring in Economics and earning a B.A. He also met Carol, the love of his life at Brown University as well. The couple moved to Concord in 1967 where they raised their family. Duane was an active and involved member of the West Concord Union Church with his wife Carol and was also involved with the expansion of the church community as well as recent renovations. In addition to his wife, Duane is survived by his sons, Stephen G. and his wife Liz Jones of Maynard, Jeffrey W. and his wife Pamela Jones of Grove City, PA. and his daughter Linda J. Jones and her partner John C. Foster of Brooklyn, N.Y.. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Matthew and wife Kiana and Christiana Jones of PA., C.J. and Taylor Jones of Maynard, His brother Roger Jones of Menomonee Falls, WI and his cousin Carol Hart of WI. Family and friends gathered to honor and remember Duane on Friday, Oct. 20 at the Concord Funeral Home, Concord. A Celebration of Duanes life will be Saturday, November 4 at 11:00am in the West Concord Union Church. Interment will be private.
