Robert William Wagner 88, Algoma, left this world on October 28, 2017 to be in Heaven with family and friends, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Born in Waukesha, WI on Jan 11, 1929 to Edward and Winifred (Bothe) Wagner. The family moved to Algoma in 1942. Baptized March 13, 1929 at St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waukesha. Confirmed June 6, 1943 at St. Pauls, Algoma. Graduated from Algoma High School June 10, 1947. Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from Dec. 11, 1950 to Nov. 26, 1952. Worked at U.S. Plywood, Algoma for 41 years retiring in 1991 from then called Algoma Hardwoods. Also worked part time at Katch's in the 1950's. Prior to marriage, was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary Algoma. Married Audrey Swoboda June 12, 1954 at St. Mary in Algoma. They had 5 children, Linda, Dave, Allen, Lee, and Ann. Audrey died May 20, 1967. On April 21. 1989 he married Therese(Romdenne) Harmann at St. Mary in Algoma. Had a great love of nature. Loved to read, walk, garden, travel, watch the Badgers & Packers, and play cards with family & friends. Helped out at St. Mary when needed and Algoma High School. Also a gift bearer and a church cleaner for St. Mary Parish. Loved to watch his children, step-children and grandchildren's events and school functions. Survived by loving wife, Therese of 28 loving & caring years, children: Linda Urban, Dave (Dawn) Wagner, Lee (Debbie) Wagner, Ann Haas all of Algoma. Step-children, Heather Harmann (fiance Zach Monfils)Green Bay, David Harmann (partner Lawrence Monoson), Los Angeles, CA. Grandchildren: Shane & Ryan Urban, Jennifer (Ryan)Folkman and Michael(Emily) Wagner, Becky (fiance Freddy)Wagner and David Lee Wagner. Step-grandchildren: Chloe Eldeen and Marshal Monfils, Courtney (Andy) Kohlhagen and Jessie (friend Trevor)Haas. Great Grandchildren: Clayton, Brooks & Cole Wagner & Brekken, Andrek, Rijko, and Kai Urban and Joshua and Logan Folkman. Step-great grandchildren Jayden, Ashten & Hattie. Brothers: Edward & James(Beverly) Wagner, Green Bay, Brother's in-law and sister's -in-law: Clarice Rollin, Luxemburg; Carla Husdon, Casco; Phil Romdenne (special friend Bonni Gauger) Casco; Kevin Romdenne (special friend Lynnette VanDeHei) Little Sturgeon; Loretta Smith (fiance Dave Krueger) Green Bay. Mother-in-law, Virgil Romdenne, Luxemburg. Preceded in death by first wife Audrey (Swoboda) Wagner and her parents John & Odele Swoboda, Son Allen Wagner, parents Winifred & Edward Wagner, son-in-laws Gary Tiedtke And Paul Haas, brothers and sisters-in-law Shirley Wagner, Norman & Lila Swoboda, Delores & Orville Nell, Carlene & Charlene Romdenne & Dan Hudson, father in-law Philip Romdenne. Grandparents: Fred and Bertha Bothe, Hattie and William Wagner. Friends may call Thurs. Nov. 2, 2017 from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian burial at 12 PM with Father Peter Stryker officiating. Burial St.Mary Cemetary. A special thank you to all the wonderful people at Green Bay VA-Dr. Lawatsch, April, Peter, Bill, Kayln, Becky,Katie, Natashia, Sharon, Polly, Lisa, Jennifer, Casey, Dr. Toutant, Mary, Greg-you were like family.
