Mary Constance Peterson, 87, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017, at the Lakes Assisted Living and Memory Care in Banning, California. A proud California native, Mary was born on March 8, 1930, to John and Helen (Cavanaugh) Seitz. She graduated from Alhambra High School in 1947, and on July 9, 1961, wed John "Sailor Jack" Peterson, to whom she was married until his death in 2014.
Mary was known and loved for her cheerful nature, her empathetic heart, her quick sense of humor, her fierce devotion to her husband and her children, and her beautiful blue eyes. She loved art, tap-dancing, and gardening, and was a gifted seamstress. Her skill at whistling will never be matched. Mary is survived by her sister Sheila, son Michael Peterson, daughters Elizabeth Rynear and Kay Daly, and grandchildren Jack Rynear and Maddison Peterson.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Thursday, November 16, at 11am at Weaver Memorial Chapel 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA, 92223.
