Raymond A. "Ray" Zenzen, 92

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 15 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove for Ray Zenzen who died peacefully on Friday at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Melrose. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Melrose with military honors provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Meire Grove to pray, reminisce, and celebrate his life. The Melrose Veterans Honor Guard will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Ray was born in Elrosa, Minnesota on February 28, 1925 to John and Emily (Schultz) Zenzen. On September 20, 1955 Ray married the love of his life, Laura Brake in Ward Springs, Minnesota. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, an active member of the community, and deeply dedicated to his faith and family. Ray opened his home, heart, and deeply loved his children.
Ray proudly served our country on the front line in the Korean War. Ray continued his comradery with his fellow vets and served many years as Commander at the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Zenzen of Melrose; children, Mary Mayers-Bolinger (Louis Bolinger) of Portland, Oregon, Danelle Rahn (Donald Rahn) of Kensington, and Arnold Zenzen of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Kurt Zenzen of Kensington, Ryan Fischbach of Portland, Oregon, Angela Stennick of Portland, Oregon, and Rose Rae, Breanna, and Brent Zenzen of St. Cloud; and five great-grandchildren.
Ray joins his son, Joseph F. Zenzen; parents; brothers, Richard, George, and Edwin Zenzen; and sisters, Cecelia Loxtercamp and Sister Rachel Zenzen.

Laura, my deepest sympathies ho out to you and your family. I've always enjoyed giving Ray a hard time whenever we saw each other. May you all find some peace. I will remember the times we picked on each other. Hugs to all.
