Denis B. O'Leary
Pearl River - Denis Brendan O'Leary a resident of Pearl River, NY for 43 years passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at his home. He was 84.
Mr. O'Leary worked as a suit designer in the garment district for 20 years and he also worked at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River before retiring in 2003.
Denis was born December 2, 1933 in County Cork Ireland to Timothy and Nora O'Leary. He graduated from Christian Herald Brothers Academy in 1951. He served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1955.
On September 16, 1961 he married Bridget Looney at St. Nicholas of Tolentine R. C. Church in Bronx, NY. He was a member of the Irish Cultural Center and well known hurling player.
Mr. O'Leary will be remembered for his kindness and dedication to his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He was loved greatly.
He is survived by his three children, Timothy O'Leary and wife, Maria, Margaret Nugent and Noreen Michel and husband Greg; four loved and cherished grandchildren, Shawna, Kevin, Tyler and Lauren. He was the most wonderful father, husband and grandfather. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Bridget O'Leary, his parents and three siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday at St. Aedan R. C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, NY. Visiting is Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
