Ruth M. (Frazier) Pfenning, 95, of Manchester, wife of the late Theodore J. "Ted" Pfenning Jr. passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at home. She was born in Manchester on October 22, 1922 daughter of the late Edward G. and Ruth (Elliott) Frazier. Ruth grew up in Manchester, attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. She worked as an administrative assistant for over 20 years with the Traveler's Insurance Company. Ruth was an avid traveler to many destinations all over Europe and she had also cruised to Alaska. She was an active member in the Manchester Senior Center, was a voracious reader and she enjoyed dancing with her husband at the Army & Navy Club up until his passing in 1986. Ruth is survived by her son, Mark Pfenning and his wife Liz of Manchester; her daughter Gail Fiedorowicz of New Market, Tennessee; two grandchildren Heather Johnson her caregiver and her husband Shawn Johnson of Manchester with whom she made her home and Samantha Fiedorowicz of Ashville, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren Carter and Austin and many wonderful friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by her brother Edward G. Frazier. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
